This month’s newsletter features more updates to improve your experience on the Gazelle.ai platform, as well as a timely look at a competitive industry that is especially relevant this month – we think it hits the sweet spot.
We merged the Company and People download options into the same file – making it easier to view all your information in an instant. You can now select precisely the fields that are the most important for you.
And what’s in a name? Lots! Target the exact right people you’re looking for, with the newly-added ability to select specific titles of people at the targeted companies you just downloaded.
Behind the Scenes
While you won’t see this on your screen as a new feature, we’ve boosted out back-end by adding a program that allows our Gazelle.ai software developers to see errors that happen in the platform in real-time, so we can fix issues for our users and find problems faster, with more accurate information.
And as always, please feel free to contact our Engagement Manager Lizzie Selvadurai if you come across any issues when using the platform.
New News is Good News
Our Company News feature, showing the latest news items related to one of our 2.5 million companies, now aggregates news from multiple sources instead of a single source – making sure the feed you are reading is accurate, capturing the most relevant news articles out there.
We encourage all our clients to make regular use of this feature as an engagement tool with prospective companies – they’ll be happy to hear you have done your homework.
Viva la Video!
While our aforementioned Engagement Manager Elizabeth Selvadurai always enjoys getting the opportunity to speak with Gazelle.ai users, sometimes it’s hard to set a convenient time to meet.
With that in mind, we’ve begun creating videos for you to help you navigate Gazelle.ai. Have a look at our first three, and stay tuned for more. Feel free to share these with co-workers who are new to the system.
For many, February is synonymous with Valentine’s Day. A fun, frivolous, entirely made-up day.
But the business behind it is no joke. Chocolate and cocoa-based confectionary has had sluggish growth over the past years – despite a population with rising disposable incomes – with almost stagnant total sales since 2012.
Trade numbers on Gazelle.ai point to continuing import competition (see graph below). Coupled with trade restrictions such as tariffs on Mexican sugar, especially smaller companies have a harder time competing and need to be more innovative.
At the same time, demand for premium and niche products such as organic and gluten-free products and the rising belief in the health benefits of chocolate provide opportunities for growth. Though industry conglomerates like Mars and the Hershey Company are easy to identify, Gazelle.ai’s heatmapping can point you to growth companies that are not even in our system yet!
A search for the profitable counties in the US brings you to Greene County, MO (pictured below) and with some additional digging you find local business Askinosie Chocolate, on the Forbes’ 2016 list of Small Giants. They are selling their product globally in niche and high-end stores. Many companies on that list might soon make it to big leagues and are worth tracking.
