In our latest “Notes from the Road” installment, we reflect on an exhausting, exhilarating three days at the IEDC 2017 Annual Conference in Toronto, Ontario.
ROI Research on Investment and Gazelle.ai President Steve Jast and Executive Vice President Simon Leroux held dozens of meetings, and were joined by team members Margot Bégin, Hugh Kelley, Nadine Jeserich, Rebecca Moudry, Rick Moore, Elizabeth Selvadurai, Raidan Al-Eryani, and Jeff Funnekotter.
Steve’s initial impression? “I was thrilled to see such great participation; it was very well-attended, particularly for a location like Toronto, which is outside the home market of the US-based IEDC. That says a lot about the city, and about IEDC’s ability to pull in so many people.” The idea of a fellow Canadian city being such a world-class host was also a source of pride for the Montreal-based crew.
Other notes from the road:
Speaking of smart plays, we held over 150 pre-scheduled meetings and one-on-one demos of Gazelle.ai during the conference. We did it by using our own secret sauce, in a sense – using the tradeshow meetings process that ROI has provided to hundreds of clients over the years.
The energy and opportunities evident throughout the entire event are great signs for the world of economic development, and the IEDC is to be commended for a very well-run affair.
Attendees of the conference will be able to sit in with Steve Jast, President and Founder of ROI and Gazelle.ai, as he presents:
Enhancing Lead Generation Through Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, on October 18th at 2:45pm.
The talk will center on a number of topics of interest to economic development professionals. Namely, how EDOs can deploy big data and artificial intelligence to their lead generation toolkits. ROI’s presentation will help economic development organizations better understand the burgeoning world of AI, focusing on the benefits and limitations this technology affords investment attraction and lead generation professionals.
As a networking break sponsor and an exhibitor, the ROI team is looking forward to an exciting and engaging three days in Texas.
September 19th, 2017, marked the official launch of Gazelle.ai at a very special event in Toronto, Ontario.
As part of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) Annual Conference, we took the opportunity to highlight the commercial launch of our exciting new AI-based investment attraction and business intelligence platform, Gazelle.ai.
Over the course of the three-day event, Gazelle.ai was featured at a tradeshow booth and during a presentation by Steven Jast, President of ROI and Gazelle.ai, along with Dr. Nadine Jeserich, Vice-President Analytics and Dr. Hugh Kelley, Chief Economist.
The level of interest in the platform exceeded our expectations, as over 120 economic development professionals received detailed demonstrations of the product and more than 350 people attended the champagne reception on the final evening of the conference, at the historic Casa Loma in Toronto.
